Six days left til showtime! Can you believe it? In preparation for the big show, I thought it would be an awesome idea to relive some of my favorite performances at the American Music Awards and share them with you. So what’d you say?
Let’s start it off by honoring one of the greats.
The late Whitney Houston stole the show at the 1994 American Music Awards. She received 8 (yes, 8!) AMAs, including the admirable Award of Merit. Here she is performing “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going” and “I Have Nothing.”
My girl Britney! Britney Spears had the most exciting performance of the 2003 show when she sang “Me Against the Music.” With the help of some bright lights, an eclectic stage, and amazing dancers, Brit pulled off one of the most wow-worthy performances in American Music Awards history. Check it out!
Ah! I can’t get enough of this epic “Single Ladies” performance and I’m sure you’ll feel the same after watching. All Beyonce needed to pull this off in 2008 was her impeccable voice, some killer dance moves, and two extra dancers. It really shows you just how powerful of a performer she is. If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it!!
You know I had to feature Lady Gaga. This woman never fails to put on a show and her 2009 AMAs performance of “Bad Romance” (my all-time favorite) and “Speechless” is no exception. This performance has all of the ingredients for an unbelievable show, including the ever-popular “Bad Romance” dance, Gaga clad in sparkly bones (?), and a piano on fire.
Last but not least. This 2009 Adam Lambert AMAs appearance is what I would imagine 50 Shades of Grey to look like as a musical performance. Tons of leather, bondage, and, move aside Britney and Madonna, an onstage kiss! WARNING! This performance is not for the lightheaded.
With all the great artists performing at next Sunday’s American Music Awards, we’re bound to find another great performance that weill remember for years to come. What has been your favorite AMAs performance so far?
