Our favorite South Korean singer and rapper PSY was named this year’s American Music Awards New Media Honoree! He will be receiving his award during the Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE @ The 2012 American Music Awards pre-show. Last year’s honorees included DeStorm, Christina Grimmie and Karmin.
The New Media Honoree award is given to an artist whose fame can credited to the internet. As for Psy, he might just be the quickest YouTube sensation since…well, forever! His hit “Gangnam Style” was uploaded to YouTube a mere four (yes, four!) months ago. Since then, his video has gotten close to 720 million views.
With his signature dance moves that hooked the world, we can’t even begin to imagine how Psy will rock the AMAs stage when he performs on Sunday night!
